DLC stands for Downloadable Content. They’re the items we sometimes get off of WiFi, like that Shamrock Hat or the Nintendo DSi couches. Each DLC item takes up one of 256 item slots which when filled can never be cleared by normal players. Nintendo releases these special items every once in a while to commemorate certain events.
